Hello!! Thanks for taking the time to visit my blog. First of all, I want to tell you a little bit about me.

I am 29 years old. I was born and raised in Venezuela where I lived until December 2018.

My parents are Melissa, born in Texas, USA and Leonel from Maracaibo, Venezuela. Our family has always been a US + Latin mix. I have two older sisters: Marisabel and Astrid, and two younger siblings: Miguel and Rebeca. I also have two nephews and a niece whom I love with all my heart: Emma, Isaac and Abel.

I am super grateful to God because He is faithful in spite of us, He never gets tired of pursuing our hearts until He has them completely. Even though I grew up in a christian home (where my dad is a pastor and my mom the daughter of missionaries) it was not until 2014 that I really began to have a relationship with Jesus as my Lord and Savior and gave Him my life to please Him out of conviction and not obligation. My heart yearns to know Him more and more and to make Him known to all those around me. Only in Him is the solution to all our problems, only in Him there is hope and eternal life.

I studied architecture at the Simón Bolívar University in Caracas, Venezuela, where I graduated in 2016. I did my internships with Habitat for Humanity in Tijuana, Mexico; where I confirmed my passion for serving the needy.

After I graduated, I worked in Venezuela with an NGO called Tracing Public Spaces during 2016-2018 teaching citizenship through design tools and architecture to children to transform their communities where I discovered my passion for teaching and working with kids using my career.

My family moved to the United States in 2010, I decided to stay in Venezuela. It was not easy to live alone for these 9 years but I thank the Lord for the time that He allowed me to live away from home where both my parents and I learned to trust and depend on Him alone, and to appreciate much more every moment together as a family. I currently live with them in the United States. It has been a time to get to know my brother and sister, to live with my parents 24/7 again. Thank you God for this time!

I inherited the missionary heart of my grandparents Buck and Ila Mae. The Lord has placed in my heart the desire to go where few want to go, and now more specifically to go to places that have not yet heard the Good News that God loves them greatly and longs for their hearts, so He sent His one and only Son Jesus: the Way, the Truth and the Life.

That is why in January 2020 I did The World Race where I had the opportunity to go for 2 months to countries that are in the 10/40 window: Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand. My international trip was cut short because of COVID’19, but God used my time here in the States and called me in July 2020 to join World Race America for 4 months. My team and I traveled all over the country partnering with different churches and non profits that serve the community. Joining Gods work in this country during such controversial times was a huge blessing. I learned to depend more on Him and not focus on doing but on praying and inviting the Holy Spirit to guide me into everything I do and say. 

God opened the doors for me to go back out internationally during 11 months in 2021 to serve with The World Race: Expedition Route in the 10/40 window; where more than 3.1 billion people live and have not heard about Jesus! And where only 3% of the missionaries go (these numbers amaze me, you can read more about it in this link).

After my time with the World Race, the Lord has made a way for me to join as leadership in their Semesters program. I will be leading a 3 month trip leaving this upcoming January 2022 that will be serving in Central America!

Now that you know a little about me, I ask you to please support me in prayer. Making this decision to continue to serve as a full time missionary is a giant step of faith that I am taking, but I know that I will not be able to make it without a network of people committed to support me spiritually and cover me in prayer.

On the other hand, if the Lord puts in your heart the desire to support me financially this will also be a great help for me. Hola!! Gracias por tomar el tiempo de visitar mi blog! Primero que nada, quiero contarte un poco acerca de mi.

Tengo 29 años. Nací y crecí en Venezuela donde viví hasta diciembre de 2018.

Mis padres son Melissa nacida en Texas, Estados Unidos y Leonel de Maracaibo, Venezuela. Nuestra familia siempre ha sido una mezcla gringa + latina. Tengo dos hermanas mayores: Marisabel y Astrid, y dos hermanos menores: Miguel y Rebeca. También tengo tres sobrinos a los que amo con todo mi corazón: Emma, Isaac y Abel.

Estoy eternamente agradecida con Dios porque es fiel a pesar de nosotros, El no se cansa de insistir en capturar nuestro corazón por completo. A pesar de que crecí en un hogar cristiano (donde mi papá es pastor y mi mamá hija de misioneros) no fue si no hasta el año 2014 donde realmente empecé a tener una relacion con Jesús como mi Señor y Salvador y le entregué mi vida para agradarle por convicción y no obligación. Mi corazón anhela conocerlo cada vez más y darlo a conocer a todos los que me rodean. Sólo en El está la solución a todos nuestros problemas, sólo en El hay esperanza y vida eterna.

Estudié la carrera de arquitectura en la Universidad Simón Bolívar en Caracas, Venezuela, donde me gradué en el año 2016. Hice mis pasantías de la universidad con Hábitat para la Humanidad México en Tijuana, donde confirmé mi pasión por servir a los más necesitados.

Luego de graduarme, trabajé en Venezuela con una ONG llamada Trazando Espacios Públicos durante 2016-2018 enseñando ciudadanía a través de herramientas de diseño y arquitectura a niños para transformar sus comunidades donde descubrí mi pasión por enseñar y trabajar con niños usando mi carrera.

Mi familia se mudó a Estados Unidos en el 2010, yo decidí quedarme en Venezuela. No fue fácil vivir sola por estos 9 años pero agradezco al Señor por el tiempo que permitió que viviera fuera de casa donde tanto yo como mis padres aprendimos a confiar y depender sólo de El, y a apreciar mucho mas cada momento juntos como familia. Actualmente vivo con ellos en Estados Unidos. Ha sido un tiempo para conocer a mis hermanos, convivir con mis padres 24/7 nuevamente. Gracias Señor por este tiempo!!

Heredé el corazón misionero de mis abuelos Rolando y Ila Mae. El Señor ha puesto en mí el deseo de ir a donde pocos quieren ir, y ahora mas específicamente de ir a los lugares que aún no han escuchado las buenas noticias de que Dios les ama inmensamente y anhela sus corazones, por eso envió a su único hijo Jesús: El camino, La verdad y La vida.

Es por eso que en Enero 2020 hice World Race donde tuve la oportunidad de ir por 2 meses a países que se encuentran en la ventana 10/40: Indonesia, Malasia y Tailandia. Mi viaje internacional fue interrumpido debido a COVID’19, pero Dios usó mi tiempo aquí en los Estados Unidos y me llamó en Julio de 2020 para unirme a World Race America durante 4 meses. Mi equipo y yo viajamos por todo el país asociándonos con diferentes iglesias y organizaciones sin fines de lucro que sirven a la comunidad. Unirnos a lo que Dios esta haciendo en este país durante tiempos tan controversiales fue una gran bendición. Aprendí a depender más de Él y a no concentrarme en hacer sino en orar e invitar al Espíritu Santo a que me guíe en todo lo que hago y digo.

Dios abrió las puertas para volver a salir internacionalmente durante 11 meses en el año 2021 para servir con World Race: Expedition Route en la ventana 10/40; donde viven más de 3.1 billones de personas que no han oído hablar de Jesús. Y donde solo va el 3% de los misioneros (estos números me asombran, puedes leer más al respecto en este link).

Después de mi tiempo con the World Race, el Señor ha abierto el camino para unirme como líder en su programa de Semestres. ¡Estaré liderando un viaje de 3 meses saliendo este próximo enero de 2022 que estará sirviendo en Centro América!

Ahora que sabes un poco de mí, por favor te pido me apoyes en oración. Tomar esta decisión de seguir sirviendo como misionera a tiempo completo es un paso gigante de fe que estoy dando, pero sé que no podré lograrlo sin una red de personas comprometidas que puedan apoyarme espiritualmente y cubrirme en oración.

Por otra parte, si el Señor pone en tu corazón el deseo de apoyarme económicamente esto también será una gran ayuda para mi. No existe ningún aporte pequeño, todo suma y estaré eternamente agradecida de que hayas decidido dar un paso más allá en apoyarme. Llegar a la meta es un milagro que sólo el Señor puede hacer y confío en que así será. Al final sólo podré decir que lo logré gracias a El y todo será para Su gloria.
